An announcement from KAL

This post is difficult to write, but I’ve made a decision that I’m going to step down as the person behind Kris Allen Lists. I want to thank all of my followers for being awesome both as fans of Kris and as people. You made it much easier for his fans to follow his career.

I recently was promoted in my real-life career, and finding myself with much less spare time, I’ve used some of it to re-evaluate how I’m spending my time and make sure I’m spending it on things that are priority for me. So it’s time for me to let go of some extra things on my plate and KAL is going to be one of them.

I’m still a fan of Kris and you’ll see me around online on my personal accounts and also at the shows if he plays Virginia again. The friends I’ve made through Kris fandom are some of my favorite people and have been the best thing about being his fan.

What will happen with the blog, twitter and Instagram?  For now, we’ll leave the blog up as it serves as an archive of ten wonderful years of Kris' musical career. As for the Kralendar, you can always check his event on his official calendar.

To keep up with Kris’ career, I recommend following him on Facebook and also highly recommend following the Twitter accounts @ThingsKrisAllen and @krisjonin. They are two of his most devoted fans and do a great job supporting him. As for KAL's Twitter and Instagram accounts, I'm happy to say that super fan Ang (@ThingsKrisAllen) has agreed to maintain those accounts and continue to post content there!

Thank you for reading all these years. Stay healthy and enjoy the music! - DY (formerly KAL)

Concert | Kris Allen plays drive in concert in Nashville, June 3, 2020 and KAL catch-up

Kris Allen's former tour manager and good friend Sean aka Big Daddy has been doing a series of drive-in concerts in Nashville this week (as covered by this article in Rolling Stone Country). Kris is playing the one on May 31

UPDATE: Due to a curfew imposed in Nashville, the show was postponed until June 3. Kris gave an impassioned speech about current times in addition to performing. Check out the video below at the 53 minute mark.

Also, just need to do a little catch-up. As we know, these are historic and scary times, with many changes. I hope all of my readers are well and safe.

On a personal note, I have taken on a new and much more demanding job in the last month. It's a fantastic professional opportunity, but one month in, I can tell it is going to to cut into the time I spend on this blog and following Kris in general. So that's why I'm not tweeting as much and why I haven't had time to do a post about the rescheduled dates for the European tour or the Thursday night livestreams replaying his albums in full that he's been doing on his Instagram live account (you can find the ones he has saved here).  I'm thinking through the best way to retool KAL to reflect the time I've got available to spend on it (not much) while still being a great place for fans to catch up.

Livestream | Kris Allen plays Letting You In and a new song for fans, March 18, 2020

Hope all of you are healthy, washing your hands and staying safe! Kris Allen is self-isolating just like the rest of us in these times of COVID-19. Of course, on March 18, 2016, one of his best albums, Letting You In, was released. And to celebrate, and raise money for his team who is not working at the moment, Kris threw a livestream show on Instagram on March 18, 2020.

If you missed it, you missed a fun party! A highlight for me was seeing Kris' bandmates and former bandmates in the chat, including Torres, Cale (who was hilarious), Devon, and Brad.

Also awesome: Kris sang his new song called Mr. Right Next Door, about an older neighbor who passed away. For those who enjoyed it, and those who missed it, @Shazamy had your back and grabbed the audio of the new song! You can download it here.
