Show Preview:

Kris returns home to Little Rock, AR for a near-hometown show. Hopefully, after all he's been through, the town will come through for him with a sold-out and supportive audience.

We do have quite a few Arkansas regulars on our list! And one of our fandom's best photographers will be there.

Kris and the Out Alive Tour spend the last of three tour stops in Florida in Gainesville tonight. Gainesville is known for being the home of the University of Florida and the legendary Tom Petty. Maybe we'll get another request granted like this outstanding one?

Let's hope anyway. Request hour on Twitter is proving to be very interesting, but I'm always relieved that Kris displays his exquisite music taste when making his selection.

The Out Alive tour continues on its Florida swing to Orlando and a show at the Back Booth. Big Daddy tweeted to see if anyone had a Universal hookup, so hopefully we might get even more fun amusement park tweets today.

Tonight's list is going to resemble last night's, and we'll have two out of three of our main tweeters from last night, which is great because they did a great job! Plus some new folks as well.

Update: Don't miss the videos where a guy leaps on stage and of course Breakdown!

The Out Alive Tour begins its tour of Florida in the gulf coast city of St. Petersburg tonight! The guys enjoyed an epic tour of Disney World yesterday - go back into the list and you'll see all their tweets.

We've got some good tweeters in Florida so this list, although not as big, should be quite enjoyable!

Update: Some great videos emerged from this show!

Kris takes the Out Alive tour to the Atlanta area tonight to Decatur, GA and the well-known club Eddie's Attic. Artists such as the Civil Wars, Indigo Girls and Sugarland developed their fanbases at this venue.

There will be two shows tonight, plus a meet and greet before the first show and after the second one. So we should get a lot of good information! No one tweeted which show they were going to, however, so we have one list for both shows.

Tonight, Kris brings the Out Alive Tour to Charleston, SC. It's a pretty city from what I've seen on TV; have always wanted to visit!

The list has a lot of new fans on it tonight (or at least names this old lister doesn't recognize). Hopefully, they'll tweet a lot, flail a lot, take lots of pics and video and we'll all get to enjoy vicariously through them!

Kris continues to bring the Out Alive Tour to North Carolina with a stop in the Raleigh suburb of Clayton.

After much wigging out for not much snow yesterday in Asheville, we continue on to more of the same in Raleigh. It should warm up enough though today to not have an effect on the show.

Wondering if we will get as epic a request as Tom Petty's Breakdown was last night! Good job to whoever requested that! And the best news of all for tonight is that Kris will be getting that large, clunky cast off to be replaced with a smaller one.

The Altamont Theatre
Asheville, NC
January 17, 2013

Opening Act: Jillette Johnson

The Out Alive tour moves into the Tarheel state starting today. You may notice a difference, as we will be moving from one of our biggest, most enthusiastic lists (and crowds) in Vienna, VA to a much smaller list in Asheville, NC. Hopefully, our lack of people on the list is just due to the fact that the rest of the audience is not on Twitter (and only one of the people on his Facebook page for this event was found on Twitter, so maybe so).

Another complicating factor? There's a winter storm warning there for tonight. Asheville is forecasted to get six inches of snow. As of this writing at 10 am on the day of the show, the show is still on, and we will have to see if Asheville can handle its snow like a northern or a southern town. (For the record, I'm from the DC area and six inches of snow is a scary thing to me.)

So it will be an interesting list to watch although maybe not for the best reasons. Update: As of 6:40 no snow yet in Asheville, although it is still forecast. Temperatures are near freezing and it is raining according to the weather twitters that I've added to the list. To work around all this, the venue has moved the start time of the show back to 7:30 EST.

Well tonight brings you one of the best lists of the tour. Of course, being from Northern Virginia, I'm biased, but Kris loves DC, DC loves Kris, and the shows in this area are always amongst the best. The list is already flailing and we just woke up. (I'm on it! See if you can figure out which one is me and you're welcome to follow on Twitter.) On top of it, this is Kris' first show in Virginia proper and this state is made for him musically, so I'll expect him to book some dates in Virginia Beach and Charlottesville after he sees how much we Virginians enjoy his music! ;P

This venue is an interesting one. It's in a strip mall and it doesn't look like much, but there is a lot going on behind those doors. During the day, it's a coffeehouse (hence the name) and hosts concerts for young children with family friendly acts. At night, it rents out for private events (my teen attended a large Bat Mitzvah here) and hosts concerts with national up and coming acts and longtime favorites.

So with a lot of list regulars tonight, me flailing wildly and excited northern Virginians, you are going to have fun! This would be a good night to go visit littlepawns.com and chat with other Kris fans in the chat room while the show's ongoing.

Tonight's show is in Annapolis, the capitol city of Maryland, and is a rescheduled show from last October 29, 2012, when that area was hit by Hurricane Sandy. While Maryland was not hit hard, and the Annapolis area did not experience what New York and New Jersey did, it will be interesting to see if Kris references the hurricane.

The show was almost sold out yesterday when I checked. Some of his mid-atlantic fans who regularly go to shows will be at this one so we shall get great tweets and videos.

Tickets are available here and if you live in the area, you really should go!  We do have a few list "regulars" who picked theirs up, so we will get some live tweets.

Tonight the Out Alive Tour moves to the outer suburb of Ridgefield, CT, in the Hudson Valley north of New York City. The town is near the city of Newtown, CT, site of the recent school shooting tragedy.

Tonight's list is actually full of people who are not regular Kris fan attendees, so it will be interesting to see their reactions! We do have some good tweeters and video-ers going as well.

Tonight Kris plays his second stop of the Out Alive Tour in Allston, Massachusetts (just outside Boston). As we saw from pictures of last night that were tweeted by our list, his hand is swollen and he needs a better sling, but you have to admire his bravery and dedication in putting on the show at all!

Tonight's list is the biggest one I've got for the January shows (although the other east coast shows are up there and may top it closer to show time). Very good group of tweeters! And starting with yesterday's show, people are hanging out together following the live tweets from the lists in the chat room at littlepawns.com! Last night was a very lively chat, so hope for more tonight!

Pickle Barrel Night Club
Killington, VT
9:15 pm EST

(Jillette Johnson opening)

(ssh, Don't tell them Kris won Season 8, not Season 6.)

The Out Alive tour begins tonight in Killington, Vermont at the Pickle Barrel Night Club! Read about Killington in the Little Pawns Tour Guide. Show time is 9:15 pm Eastern! (See the Time Zone Converter on the right side of the blog to find what time it will be where you live.)

We do have some good tweeters going! And starting with this list, we've got some new things we're doing. First, during the show, Kris fans watching the list can gather to chat about the live tweets, pics and all things Kris in Little Pawns' chat room. Open a separate tab or window in your browser, then go to http://littlepawns.com/ and click on the "Main Room" box in the bottom right hand corner to access the chat room. I'll try to stop by most nights!

Second, after the lists are over, as you know, I usually take them down. Starting with this post, when I take it down, I'll replace it with a link to the set list blog we keep - giving you another way to easily access information about the show.So it's going to be a great tour - can't wait to share the good times and tweets!

Twitter List FAQ (Updated 10/15/2014)

Thought I'd put up a quick FAQ post to give a few administrative and housekeeping notes and answer any questions people have about the twitter lists. (Updated FAQ 7/16/2014)

What are Kris Allen Lists?
Twitter lists set up to follow live tweets from Kris Allen's events and shows! People follow them to flail vicariously, track his set list and/or see the pictures that get tweeted. It's a great way to meet and connect with other Kris fans.

How do people get on the lists?
Well, ideally, you tell me to put you on one when I ask via twitter who's going to the show! But if you don't, since Twitter is public domain, if I spot you tweeting about going to the Kris show, that earns you a spot!

What if I don't want to be on the list?
Boo, that's no fun! But I will always honor a request to be taken off a list, just tweet it to me.

I'm locked, what does that mean for me listwise?
If you have a locked Twitter account, only those you have approved to follow you will see your tweets on the list. It also means if you tweet me, I won't be able to see your tweet unless I'm following you.

OMG I feel pressure to tweet great things!
RELAX. The best tweets are the ones who are just tweeting normally as they always do and enjoying the show. I definitely appreciate set list tweets, though, as we maintain a chart of the set lists. And if someone can give a fashion report on what they're wearing, that's always welcomed!

How do you make the lists available?
About 48-36 hours before the show (or the morning of the show), I'll unlock the list and tweet the link. I'll also embed it on a blog post over here and tweet that link as well. About 48 hours after the show, I'll delete the list.

Why don't the lists work on my phone?
When I list watch, I generally prefer just to do it on the computer. It works better. But it can be doable on the phone, depending on some variables.

If your phone is not a smart phone, the lists won't work on your phone. Sorry but that's Twitter's fault. Twitter wants you to use a smart phone. Without a smart phone, I'd just watch the list over here.

If you do have a smart phone, you will need to use an app (I like Echofon but others prefer TweetDeck) to make them work well. Some people like the Twitter app; others have trouble following lists using it. Whatever app you use, navigate to my profile page on twitter, then choose lists and subscribe to the list of your choice in order to access it in list format.

Why are lists hinky sometimes?
Twitter has a bug with twitter lists that sometimes causes the past few weeks of tweets to appear when someone new is added to a list. This is why I try to compile the list far in advance of the show. There's nothing you can do about it. Many have reported it to Twitter and Twitter refuses to fix it. You just have to wait for the list to refresh itself after a few newer tweets push the old one down.  It's a good idea to refresh the page with the Twitter list occasionally. That way if we've added someone after you opened the page, you'll see their tweets too. (Update: Twitter fixed the bug! Praise Kresus!)

Do you really watch live tweets from every Kris show?
I do! But I do have a real life and sometimes I have other things to do. In that case, I have a friend who will do the list watching thing if she's available. And if not, well we'll post the list and that's that!

That's all the questions I usually hear, but if you have one I didn't cover, please hit me up on Twitter @KrisAllenLists or in the comments below and I'll do my best to answer!

Throwback Thursday: April 10, 2010, Las Vegas

Every Thursday we take a look back at an amazing Kris video.

This week was a tough one to pick. Usually I just go back in time to the same date, but there wasn't much to choose from this week. On top of that, we almost lost Kris, his wife Katy (and their unborn baby and Zorro) in a head-on collision a few days ago. Luckily and thankfully, they emerged from the crash with only a wrist injury to Kris and some bumps and bruises. He says the Out Alive tour will begin as scheduled in Killington, Vermont on January 8 and his manager has tweeted that the tour is on.

With surgery on Kris' broken right wrist scheduled for tomorrow, please keep a good thought for him that all goes smoothly. I'll definitely keep the Kralendar (at the bottom of the blog and linked on my Twitter) updated with any cancellations or reschedulings, and if the tour begins as scheduled, we'll have a list almost every night for the next two months!

So as I said, it was hard to choose a video given what has gone on this week. I had a couple of candidates, and unfortunately, he hasn't done Fighters (my first choice) live yet. So I chose this video with the idea that Kris and family had an angel watching over them that night. It's a gorgeous video by cspannie of Send Me All Your Angels, a bonus track off KATA, shot at the annual Pet-a-Palooza in Las Vegas on April 10, 2010.

May Kris and all of you continue to have angels looking out for you -KAL
