Benefit-Big Change
Firefly Music Cabin
Blue Ridge, GA
May 5, 2019
5:00 P.M. EDT

Kris Allen returns to play the Firefly music cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia at a small benefit concert for Big Change, "an awesome social impact accelerator that finds inspired youth with potentially world-changing ideas and helps them bring those ideas to life" according to the event's website. He's played this cabin before (shown in the photo above from their 2016 concert).

Updated 6/2/2019: Jonins is awesome as always and snagged Kris' video of the cabin for us. Pam (@granni9) went to the show and got the set list plus video! New stuff! (6/2: Adding a high quality video of Safe Harbor posted by the event's organizers)  After the break...

Private | Kris Allen returns to Arkansas for charity benefit and convention appearances

Kris returned to Arkansas this past weekend and played a gig on April 13 to benefit Alzheimer's Arkansas, hosted by Glen Campbell's widow. He reportedly sang Wichita Lineman with his father. Updated with video from Kim Allen! That's not Wichita Lineman though. Neil sounds great! The song is called Gentle on My Mind.

On April 17, he played a private gig for the Arkansas Bankers Association conventions. We do have a little video.

See what we do have for both events after the jump.

Charity | March 25, 2019: Kris Allen and Others Perform in Nashville for Cancer Charity Benefit

In 2018, Kris was named the "Man of the Year" for his fundraising efforts on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Nashville. He's still raising money for the charity, and last night appeared at a benefit in Nashville. As with most private charity events, we've got very little media, but what we get, I'll put in this post.

Updated 4/28/2019 with some new videos the amazing @krisjonin just found

Appearance | March 8, 2019 (Updated with videos): Kris Allen joins other Nashville musicians for Beatles tribute

Band Together: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Abbey Road
City Winery Nashville
March 8, 2019

Well this charity benefit theme certainly fits Kris well, as he is a big fan of the Beatles! Kris joins other Nashville singer-songwriters (Matthew Perryman Jones, Gabe Dixon, Striking Matches, Jason Eskridge, Paul McDonald, K.S. Rhoads, Elle Macho, The Medium, Carey Ott and Charlie Whitten) for a fun tribute that benefits Musician's Corner, a free summer concert and arts series in Nashville. Kris has been a huge supporter of, and past performer in, Musician's Corner.

The fabulous @ameeliu went to this show and got us the set list and a few videos! Check them out after the jump.

Appearance: November 10, 2018: Kris Allen performs Live Like We're Dying at the Women That Soar Awards; Mentions New Music Coming Soon

I kind of slept on this one. I thought we wouldn't get anything out of it. Shows what I know!

Kris joined fellow idol Fantasia to perform at a Dallas-based awards show: The Women That Soar awards,  The event was taped for later airing on TV (in March 2019). We know he sang Live Like We're Dying:

(Here's another video from IG of it.)

After the event, Kris was in his feels! And decided to do his first ever live Instagram. I happened to stumble on it and it was fun. He answered questions, gave some props to the fandom and performed his new song Safe Harbor. (Which he officially performed live for the first time the other night in Nashville but we have no video. Lucky Idol Tour VIP attendees actually heard it a few times this summer as he worked it out.) Most important, he announced he's got new music coming soon!

Thank you @SnapCracklyPop for capturing it!

Charity Show: July 26, 2017: Musicians Corner Presents a Tribute to Paul Simon's Graceland, Nashville, TN

Musicians Corner presents: A Tribute to Paul Simon's Graceland
July 26, 2017
Nashville, TN
Doors 6 PM; Show 8 PM CDT

Preview:
Kris joins musician friends such as Tony Lucca (with whom he co-wrote Never in a Million Years) and Marie Miller (who opened for him on west coast leg of last year's Letting You In tour), for this charity gig in Nashville to benefit Musicians Corner. The theme is a salute to Paul Simon's landmark album Graceland. Kris has participated in similar charity benefit tributes in past years, and we were lucky to have most of them livestreamed and/or video'ed - rare for Nashville shows!  We also got some really great performances from them. Hopefully the same will be true this time. Tickets are still available, so if you are in Nashville, go support them!

Updated 8/1/2017: We are in luck as our friend Annie was there and did get video (which has been added to the post). Kris did three songs - one solo, one duet and one group number at the end. Details, videos and photos in the post after the break! Thank you Annie!

CANCELED: Concert: Musicians Corner, June 23, 2017, Nashville, TN

Acoustic Friday Night
Musicians Corner
June 23, 2017
Centennial Park
Nashville, TN
Canceled due to bad weather

Preview:
Kris is joining some other artists for a live acoustic concert in Nashville this Friday night. Hopefully Tropical Storm Cindy's remnants won't soak everyone! It sounds fun, as Kris is bringing his friend Melinda Doolittle and others to join him for some special songs they've worked up for his set. Sounds like it could be full band too (based on the people he tagged in his IG post). Stay dry Nashville!

(Admin note: Sorry I've been so silent! A real-life work project and some personal traveling has kept me pretty busy.)

Update: Show has been canceled due to weather (Tropical Storm Cindy's remnants). Kris plans to attend a concert the next day in the same location (but he won't be performing).

2016 for Kris Allen and Fans - a Wrap-Up Post

It is time for one of those year-end posts all the blogs do! I thought this year I'd take a look back at some of my favorite Kris performances and memories. On Twitter, I invited you to do the same, and you came through big time with some great photos, videos and tweets! I'll be including them in this post. Not to mention that I actually got in three Kris concerts in person in one year, tying my record for that! (Some of you really put me to shame with how many shows you get to!) So let's take a look back at 2016 for Kris Allen and fans.

Charity Event: October 24, 2016: Musician's Corner Paul Simon Tribute Concert, Nashville, TN

Still Crazy After All These Years:
Paul Simon, a 75th Birthday Tribute Concert
October 24, 2016

City Winery
Nashville, TN
Doors 6 PM CDT
Show 8 PM CDT

Preview:Singer-songwriter Paul Simon is turning 75 this month, and to honor him and raise funds for Musician's Corner, several Nashville artists (including Kris) are holding this tribute concert. While I was wondering if Kris would go with Mrs. Robinson (which he's covered before) or with his own song Young Love, or as I call it (and he called it for 2 1/2 years, "Paul Simon" because it seemed like a Paul Simon-type song), one of the other participants spilled the beans and revealed Kris will perform Still Crazy After All These Years (hattip @tmg84). I'm more of a 70s Paul Simon girl, so I'm pleased, and Paul Simon is a big influence for Kris so I'm sure he will do it justice.

Updated after the show: You really can't go too wrong with Paul Simon and I heard nothing but great stuff on all the IG videos the list posted. Our girl Ameeliu has posted a full video of Kris covering Still Crazy After All These Years (embedded below).

All ages

Show and List Preview:
This charity telethon event benefits the Union Rescue Mission of Little Rock, a faith-based charity in Little Rock, Arkansas that seeks to help the homeless, addicted and disadvantaged rebuild their lives. Although it says it's a telethon, I'm not finding any livestream or TV information; it sounds more like a charity concert. According to this news story, "Every act will perform live with their band and after 45 minutes of the performance the show will stop and the audience will have the opportunity to participate in the telethon event by getting on their phones and raise funds for the URM."

Updated: Some pre-event stories after the break. Could not find any information or media regarding Kris' part in this show but it turns out there was a very good reason for this:

Show and List Preview:
Kris joins a bunch of Nashville-based singer-songwriters to raise funds for Musicians Corner (an annual concert series in Nashville highlighting emerging artists). The theme is 1989, and the artists will either sing covers of Taylor Swift's album of the same name, or alternatively, they may choose to cover a song from 1989. Just in case Kris is reading this, here's a list of songs from the year 1989, with a lot of great selections to choose from! I would love a Kris cover of the End of the Innocence by Don Henley. Free Fallin' by Tom Petty also came out that year. And that's just my two favorites; he's got some quality songs to pick from!

UPDATED: Kris very wisely chose Wicked Game and got a standing ovation from Taylor Swift's mom Andrea. See videos, pics and mp3 after the break...
