10 Years, 1 Night Tour | Kris Allen finally returns to California for solo live shows October 15 - 18

Tour Poster for Kris Allen's 10 Years 1 Night tour 2019

It's been a long while since Kris Allen played regular (non-Christmas) shows, and played them in California. Those fans have waited awhile, and the week of October 15, 2019, Kris returns to play Los Angeles, Berkeley, Novato (Marin County near San Francisco) and Winters (near Sacramento).

The basic 22 song set list for the tour is in this post. In subsequent sets, Kris has added Written All Over My Face to that set, and on one occasion, Parachute.

Come back after the shows as I'll put the highlights from these stops in this post! In the meantime, here's a nice interview with Kris from the Winters, CA local paper.

Updated October 24: Added some links to all the awesome stuff that @krismicklin posted from the Winters show!

Kris after Boyce Avenue's set )

Opening Act: Curtis Peoples

All Ages

Show and List Preview:
The tour heads to Los Angeles, always a town that finds the Kris epic. Last time Kris played the Wiltern, he opened for Lady Antebellum (always wished they had done more shows together). We got this bit of epic, though, especially around the 3:50 mark. Hope we'll get something exciting tonight!

A word on the west coast lists - I'm east/best coast so I will most likely be asleep during most of these shows. Please help me out by letting me know to add you to the lists in advance! Otherwise, rather than add people to the list, I'll just RT the best stuff I find in search the day after the show. Also - for this particular list, I will be out of town all day but back in time for the show, so updates to the post or the list might not happen until just before showtime.

Updated: Very awesome crowd resulted in some fun videos! Set list and media after the jump...

Concert: July 18, 2014: House of Blues, Anaheim, CA

Concert

July 18, 2014

House of Blues

Anaheim, CA

Doors 7:30 PM Pacific
Show 8 PM Pacific

Opening for Andy Grammer;

Opening Act - Brett Young

Show and List Preview:
This is a very exciting show! It's the first show for Kris since he announced the release of his single, Prove It To You, as well as the imminent August 12 release of his new album, Horizons. Although we've heard many of the Horizons tracks already, we've not heard PITY done live yet. However, his duet partner, Lenachka, confirmed she will be at this show to perform the song. Plus he's teamed up with the awesome Andy Grammer for two west coast shows (this one and one the following night in San Diego, CA). Check out this week's Throwback Thursday post for an Andy/Kris friendship retrospective! I wish they could have made this a full-blown tour.

As far as our list, we have some great tweeters and video-takers which is normal for a Los Angeles-area show. We also have been chatting with some wonderful Andy Grammer fans and you'll find them on the list as well. We'll keep an eye out for surprise celebrity guests and friends of Kris to add to the list too. Who knows, Adam Lambert might even make an appearance as his summer tour with Queen has a gap in dates that night. (I'm kidding, it's very unlikely.)  In unwelcome news, one person who won't be there: Cale. (Update: Also looks like drummer Steve did not make the trip.)

Throwback Thursday: Stuck in a Moment, L.A. Grove, November 17, 2010

Every Thursday we take a look back at Kris Allen's career via video.

This week, and really the past few weeks, I admit I have hit a little stumbling block creativity-wise. I've been kind of stuck.

Coincidentally, I happened to go to a David Cook concert this past Monday. He's always good, and I really enjoyed the energy and love his fans showed him. I firmly believe that musical acts really want that kind of energy from their audiences, especially those acts in the pop-rock genre. The vibe of the crowd and the night was fun and lively and I came away feeling energized about live music.

We could use a little of that energy in our particular fandom, and it was great to see news of two shows leak out - February 8 in Watseka, IL and February 14 in Natick, MA (near Boston). I think many Kris fans are starved for live shows, even though truthfully, it hasn't been that long since he toured and he does need the time to work on new music. But new shows are soon to come and the two we know of are now listed on the Kralendar on the bottom of this page. Let me know on Twitter (@KrisAllenLists) if you are going so I can add you to the lists!

For our throwback Thursday entry this week - I was similarly stuck again for an idea. Than I stumbled on this pretty video by jeck s of Kris singing U2's Stuck in a Moment at a 2010 appearance at the L.A. mall called the Grove. This has always been one of my favorite covers by him and it's a song with lyrics that call for one to get oneself together and get out of one's rut.

My hopes? That our fandom can rejuvenate during this downtime and bring a renewed energy towards promoting and attending the upcoming shows! For my part, I have got some ideas for this blog that I am looking forward to putting forth in the new year to come. Let's get unstuck!

Flashback Friday: Sweet Carolina and Sweet Hershey

On Fridays, we try to catch up on tour media around here! We'll check out a video to catch up on the Out Alive Tour. Plus I'll try to give you a bonus video - maybe one that got overlooked or one that is just worth watching again.

For the Out Alive tour video this week, since we are looking at a show in Hershey, Pennsylvania this week, I thought I should give you something sweet to enjoy! Here's Kradmantium's video of Ryan Adams' Oh My Sweet Carolina as performed by Kris and Jillette Johnson at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles (Show #1 of 2).

For the bonus video, of course we are going to return to Hershey! Everyone seems excited for this concert on Sunday. Many saw him before opening for Daughtry in Hershey - including me! I'll never forget these two HUGE football player types sitting in front of us - clearly there for Daughtry but they did get up and dance to Live Like We're Dying and Come Together. I thought you'd all get a kick out of me flailing over Daughtry coming on stage to sing Send Me All Your Angels, so here's this video shot by the person I was with, kmt8871!

Everyone I went to that show with is going to be there this time too, except for me (Boo!) - so you can expect some more awesome videos (but maybe not as much flail? I don't know, they'll have to bring it to top my screaming)! Click here for the set list as well as tons and tons of media from the August 6, 2010 Hershey concert!

List: February 6, 2013: Hotel Cafe Show #2, Los Angeles, CA

The Hotel Cafe
Show 2 of 2
February 6, 2013
Los Angeles, CA

9:30 pm Pacific (12:30 am 2/7 Eastern)

Jillette Johnson opening

Kris concludes a two night stint at this venue. The Hotel Cafe is a place where many singer-songwriters (including those of the American Idol variety) showcase their talents.

Our list tonight again includes most of our LA regulars as well as a few new people checking out the show. I'm very excited that a fan of mine from another fandom is there and I've got him properly whipped into excitement for the show - so here's hoping Kris plays his request!

Admin. note: This show starts much later, and I'm east coast based, and it's a work night. So I probably won't be babysitting the list. As always, if you don't like what someone tweets on the list, you'll live. I promise. And if we didn't catch someone to put them on the list on time, that's our and yours and their tough luck. The tweeters we do have on this list should do a great job!

Update: My friend had an amazing time but being a Springsteen fan, he didn't realize he was supposed to live tweet that ;P He did tweet a lot of you the next day though.

The Krismas season has begun! Earlier this week, Kris announced his upcoming Krismas EP, Waiting for Christmas. And he's in Los Angeles today to help a local mall kick off the season properly!

For those who don't know the other performers, Ariana Grande is a huge star for kids and teens. (With over 3 million twitter followers, let's hope she drinks the milkshake!) She's the comic relief on Victorious and is getting her own show on Nickelodeon soon. Roshon was in Camp Rock and Colton Dixon was on the last season of American Idol.

For the list, I've been searching all of their replies, hope to see some new fans be won over today! And we've got some faithful list regulars going.

Updated 2018: Kris' former drummer Brad tweeted something about Ariana Grande, and it reminded me that Kris once co-headlined this mall Christmas concert! Fans had fun reminiscing on Twitter and I saw that this post needed an update. Luckily, Kris fan @SnapCracklyPop had a great YouTube playlist (thank you for the link @ISBinLA) - so enjoy this Krismas concert from 2012!
