Kris Allen follows up the release of his album "10" with a fall tour starting on October 2 in Cambridge, Massachusetts and winding up on November 23 in Grand Rapids, MI. You can find ticket links and more information for all shows here.
This post will capture the set list and all the action from the first show. I'm planning regular highlight posts for the other show, grouped by region.
Updated October 3: The fabulous @ameeliu got the very long (set list (22 songs, including one brand new song) and videos. We've also heard some good banter stories. I notice her videos do include the banter. Kris played acoustic, it's a solo show (no band) and it lasted over two hours. Everything after the break!
Looks like Parker is managing the tour |
- A Song for You
- Faster Shoes
- Beautiful and Wild
- Better With You
- Feeling This Way
- She Works Hard for the Money (Donna Summer)
- Rooftops/My Weakness (mash-up) MASH-UP PREMIERE
Well, for that one, apparently Rooftops triggered a match to Single Ladies in some software, so they had to change a note to avoid a potential lawsuit. Kris seemed amused at the absurdity of it and said maybe they should have let Beyonce come after them for the press...— Ryan Lang (@rnlang) October 3, 2019
- Red Guitar
- Move
- Where is my Capo (IG Story song)
- The Vision of Love
Vision of Love was least favorite song on TYC, didn't like it being picked as single. Would have preferred Better With You, which went #1 on some Asian charts. "Vision of Love wasn't #1 anything."— Ryan Lang (@rnlang) October 3, 2019 - If We Keep Doing Nothing
- To Make You Feel My Love (Bob Dylan)
- Teach Me How Love Goes
- Monster
- Idol Medley
There was a Q&A. Someone asked about Simon's "shouldn't have mentioned the wife" thing, which K was not happy about. Said sarcastically "Simon was a fan of mine" but also honestly that they got along.— Ryan Lang (@rnlang) October 3, 2019
- Everybody Just Wants to Dance
- I Need to Know
I hope I got that right. Kris wrote I Need to Know drunk on margaritas in New York City. (Said something like "so much for goody-two-shoes Kris Allen")— Ryan Lang (@rnlang) October 3, 2019
- More Machine PREMIERE
- Lost
- Live Like We're Dying
- I Remember You
I love the banter so much. So many revelations there. These kinda reinforced my belief that the label screwed Kris. Lots of bad decisions and apparently they don't see eye to eye artistically. No wonder the label dropped Kris. Or Kris might have left too.
ReplyDeleteKris actually got hosed twice by two labels - First Jive never really did a lot for him, and then when RCA took over Jive, they allegedly promised a lot and delivered very little. I suspect Kris and RCA left each other.
