Idol Tour 2018: September 14 and 15: the Idols play the suburbs of New York and Boston

If you missed the first time the Idol tour played the Boston or New York City areas, you're in luck, because the tour is coming back around!

September 14: Count Basie Center for the Arts, Red Bank NJ (Monmouth County) - Kris did not appear. See below.

September 15: Zeiterion Performing Arts Center, New Bedford, MA (south of Boston; east of Providence, RI) - Kris did not appear. Nick Fradiani subbed for him. See below.

Updated September 13 with some sad news. Kris announced on his Facebook that a close lifelong friend had passed away unexpectedly. He will be returning to Arkansas for the funeral and will miss the show in New Jersey and per an email going out to ticket purchasers, the VIP in MA. My thoughts, prayers and condolences goes out to Kris, his family and friends.

Preview:
Kris continues to bring holiday cheer to the east coast by visiting the mall in Freehold, NJ, about 50 miles from New York City and about 65 miles from Philadelphia, and known for being Bruce Springsteen's childhood home. Kris performed a successful show here in 2014, with one of the best full band versions of Out Alive we've ever gotten (mashed with a pinch of Springsteen's Secret Garden).

Around 6 pm eastern today, we saw tweets pop up advertising a Kris performance to meeting planners attending an educational conference in Atlantic City. Turns out he (with the full band) and Redfoo from LMFAO are the closing night's entertainment for this large conference. (Train and Rick Springfield have already entertained the meeting planners.)

Since it's a private gig, we probably won't get set list info, but if I do, I'll add it to this post. In the meantime, here are some photos posted on social media by attendees. (Updated 6/15/2016)

Show and List Preview:
This show has had some online buzz and the venue tweeted recently that it is close to a sell-out! Hope we get there! Lots of fans traveling to central New Jersey for this show, which is fairly easily reachable by bus or car from both New York and Philadelphia. (It's also worth noting that Freehold is the boyhood home of Kris' idol, Bruce Springsteen (but in case you are wondering, Bruce is on tour in Australia).) iPlayAmerica is described by a Yelp review as "Vegas for Kids" and features food, drink, rides, an arcade, and the venue in which Kris is going to play, the Encore Events Center. This is also the last show of his club tour in February; after this, it will be college shows and festivals for the rest of February and March.

We do know of someone planning to stream; the link will be tweeted out on the list if it's a go. If you listen (or have listened the past few nights), they'd like you to consider (no obligation) making a donation to one of Kris' favorite charities, WorldVision.
