On Fridays, we try to catch up on tour media around here! We'll check out a video to catch up on the Out Alive Tour. Plus I'll try to give you a bonus video - maybe one that got overlooked or one that is just worth watching again.
Out Alive Tour:
For those who don't know, at the end of the year I will give you some awesome, in order, almost complete video playlist of every song that Kris did live! Since he toured a lot this year, it's a work going very slowly in progress. I'm up to Tucson, AZ, February 1, and I see from looking at this link that this is one of the very few shows he performed one of his post-TYC songs, Where are You, Amy? Since the video by ZoniDuck sounds amazing and is one of the few performances live of this song, seemed like a great choice to go back and take a look at. He also talks a little bit about the record that he is now working on.
Worth Another Look Video:
Since Kris is in Nashville working hard, I thought I'd take a look at his 3rd and Lindsley concert there from last November. Hoping he can do that again - we got an awesome livestream out of it! Continuing our new songs theme, here's his performance of Paul Simon as videoed by Jackson Jones:
Can't wait to buy the new music!

Flashback Friday: It's Fun to be a Kris Fan!
On Fridays during down periods, we try to catch up on tour media around here! We'll check out a video to catch up on the Out Alive Tour. Plus I'll try to give you a bonus video - maybe one that got overlooked or one that is just worth watching again.
For the Out Alive Tour Catch-up Video - I thought a good reminder that being a fan is fun was in order after spending a week watching poll angst on Twitter. So here's Kris covering the Prince classic When Doves Cry in 80s Wayfarers, on January 15, 2013, at Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA - definitely one of the livelier, more fun crowds this tour! LOL listen to them go "whooooo" when he sings the line about touching his stomach. Not that I was among that group, no way, not me. ;P
For the Bonus Video - Here's my favorite of Kris' Out Alive Tour recap videos, set to My Weakness (a fun song) and featuring the Chicago, New England and Toronto shows (look, the crowds are having fun! Plus the KAB singing the Friends theme at the end!) It deserves a few more views!
So yes, please vote for Kris in round 3 of Ryan Seacrest's poll, but also just enjoy how awesome Kris is too and have fun being his fan!

Flashback Friday: All We Need is this Love :)
On Fridays during down periods, we try to catch up on tour media around here! We'll check out a video to catch up on the Out Alive Tour. Plus I'll try to give you a bonus video - maybe one that got overlooked or one that is just worth watching again.
For the Out Alive Tour Catch-up Video - all you need to know is I had a bad day today until about 5 pm. A little errand running and retail therapy with the younger kid helped a lot. And to get rid of the residual stuff that irked me so much, I decided to listen to Kris' new song All We Need Is This Love. I just love this song so much - it's so positive and happy! In listening to it, I stumbled on this joyous video from sdshelleybean from the May 3 Hanover, Maryland show:

For the Bonus Video, I'm all inspired now, so here's Kris and the kids of the Blackbird Academy singing All You Need is Love by the Beatles at a charity benefit at the University of Central Arkansas in October 2010. Even better, this video is posted by a dad who was there to see his kid sing with Kris. And he had a pretty good view of Andrew DeRoberts.
So now that I'm all cheered up, I'm ready to celebrate Memorial Day. Tune in on Twitter @KrisAllenLists - I will tweet lots of Kris on Memorial Day stuff all weekend (in between enjoying it). In between, please feel free to vote for your favorite Idol winner of all time ;P

List: May 3, 2013: Rams Head Center Stage, MarylandLive!, Hanover, MD
Rams Head Center Stage
Maryland Live! Casino
9 PM EDT
No opening act
The Out Alive Tour concludes tonight in the new casino in Maryland, built near BWI Airport and close to the University of Maryland, Baltimore and some outer suburbs of DC.
Unfortunately the venue is 21+, not all ages, and about as inconvenient for a Virginian to get to as it can get, so while this is technically a DMV show, it's more M with very few D and V yet on the list. Sadly, this will be the first DMV show I'll be missing (my kid has a tennis event which will allow me to get home to do the list in time, but not to actually go to the show considering its location).
Having said all that, the casino is a popular new attraction and advertises on TV here in the DC area a lot. So Kris may attract just regular casino-goers - Yay New Fans!
List Preview:
Although I'm not on the list, I'm about the only non-DC area superfan who isn't on the list! So as DMV lists usually give good tweet, flail, pics and videos, you should be fine. I will miss hanging with them tonight, and hope they all have a blast. I do wonder if Kris will go out with a bang and do a bunch of requests as he did for the last show of the first leg of the tour. He should; the people attending this show are big fans and deserve a treat!
Updated: Wifi issues at the venue prevented most live tweets (except for some hilarious tweets from two of my funnier locked friends who let me RT some of them). However, the listees more than made up for this by taking plenty of photos and video! Kris did perform his new song again. Click here for the Set link/Video Post.

The Out Alive Tour continues its journey through its stronghold of the East Coast down to the Mid-Atlantic city of Wilmington, Delaware. This city is home to 93.7 WSTW - the first station to really support and play The Vision of Love and Kris fans/Purple Pawns are grateful for how nice this station was about playing our many requests for it! Kris is repaying them for their support today with a live in-studio performance. We'll try to keep an eye out for that and WSTW and its DJ are on the list. You can listen to the station online at http://www.wstw.com/ (click listen live).
List Preview:
Got a bunch of fans who are taking the easy train ride down from New York or up from the DC/Baltimore area for this show! And it is an all-ages show. So we will have a lively list for sure. Definitely hoping that Kris will play his gorgeous and playful new song, All We Need is This Love, for them!
Updated: Kris didn't play the new song, but he did do an awesome mash-up of Jump Jump by Kris Kross (in honor of the late Chris White) with Rooftops. Set List/Video Link Post is here.
Also, earlier in the day, Kris stopped by WSTW - here's the Set List/Video Link Post for that appearance.

Two Shows!

Show and List Preview:
The Out Alive Tour stops in New York City's Rockwood Music Hall tonight for two shows! The first is for all ages and the second is for the grown-ups. How did New York get so lucky as to get two shows, when one at the Highline Ballroom was originally scheduled? Well the not-so-secret reason is that Kenny Chesney has an album premiere party for Sirius XM contest winners tonight at the Highline Ballroom and it was made worthwhile for Kris to move venues. Win/win! Hopefully, Kenny will make it to the second show to check out the guy who was nice enough to move for him. (Disclaimer: I'm a huge Kenny fan and have tried to get his online radio station, No Shoes Radio, to play some of Kris' music, because songs like Alright With Me, Leave Me Alone and Teach Me How Love Goes would be a good fit.)

One list for both shows. You'll find, like the last time we had two shows in New York, many people are going to both. We might have a professional concert photographer potentially coming and a whole bunch of regular Kris list tweeters have traveled to New York. So I anticipate a good list with a lot of goodies for you!
Update: Unfortunately, my professional concert photographer friend did not receive a press pass. :( That was the only hitch, though. Great list and videos, and an awesome new song, All We Need is This Love!

Some of our best tweeters will be there, and one of them is bringing a photographer friend who has been given permission to bring his/her professional camera. Sweet!
Reminder: If you are using the lists, I ask you to be respectful of the people on the lists, even if they aren't your friends - after all, they are the people bringing you the setlist, the videos, the pictures and the on-the-scene tweets which are the whole point of having a list in the first place. I want the lists to be a positive bonding experience for ALL of Kris fandom. Thanks!

Continuing its march through New England, the Out Alive Tour stops in the college town of Northampton, Massachusetts (home to Smith College and near several other well-known colleges and universities). It's also home to Andrew St. Marie's sister, who is very excited for the show! (And on the list.)
List Preview:
Our group of fans traveling with Kris is there! Also some various college town folk. Let's hope Northampton is more of a Searcy or a Dayton as opposed to a Frostburg or a Lawrence. Looking forward to a good show!
Updated: Definitely more of a Dayton, even more than Dayton! The Northampton list brought it! Great work! Click here for the Set List & Video Links post!

The Out Alive Tour continues its swing through New England with a stop at the famous Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT. Kris will be doing a free, general admission (21+) show in the smaller Wolf Den venue within the casino. At the same time, country music goddess Reba McEntire will be performing in the larger arena. YES I'm hoping they will cross paths! After all, Kris' very first concert was Reba!
List Preview:
It will be a good list - we've got good regulars, good tweeters, faithful Purple Pawns and some newbies attending. Get there early folks!
Updated: What a great show and list! Although we don't know if Kris met Reba (her show ended before his did, and he hasn't flailed, so it is not looking good. Don't miss his cover of her song Fancy! Set List/Video Links post is here.

Last night's list was super quiet (except for @NoSilverNoGold, thankfully), but apparently the crowd was rowdy! We will have to see if this list is the same; I noticed there are some of the same people going.

Our group of traveling Kris fans plans to head here tonight, plus a few locals plus some new fans Kris made at his show at Colby Sawyer College (which is about an hour away). Kris has had special surprise local guest performers the past two shows, so it will be interesting to see if we get any tonight.

Kris returns to Purple Pawns territory for the rest of the Out Alive Tour, starting with tonight's show in Burlington, VT. The East Coast is a stronghold for Kris, should make for some great shows. This particular show was promoted heavily by local radio, especially by Ronnie of Mix 102.3, and that station is sponsoring tonight's meet and greet.
List Preview:
Not the biggest list, but Kris' two biggest fans in Vermont, @bignliddle and @802Jumper, will be there and I really hope they get to meet him this time! Make it happen Big Daddy! There is also a group of fans that have traveled for the New England shows, so they will be on a few of our lists, starting with this one.

Kris brings the Out Alive Tour to Canada for his very first show ever in that country! I'm a little worried about the venue. The time on their website says doors open at 8 pm, but the street team poster and the ticket link say that the show starts at 8 pm. On top of that, the Fleming itinerary says the show starts at 9 PM.
Update: Tweeters going to the show say doors at 8 pm, Jillette at 8:30 pm, Kris at 9:30 pm. I'd show up at 8. All times Eastern.

This is our biggest list of the Spring! There are quite a few avid Adam Lambert fans on it (which makes sense, he got a lot more promotion and airplay in Canada than Kris ever did). Hoping that they and we will get good treats and videos, that Canada will realize just how amazing Kris is, and that our wonderful helper Altrus01, who is going, has a fabulous first but hopefully not last Canadian Kris show! (By the way, if you are using the list, please don't be salty on Twitter with Adam fans fangirling over Adam; this is a chance to show how nice and cool our fandom really can be.)
Updated: Everybody was lovely and although the crowd was small, they were very vocal and lively and up and dancing, just the way Kris likes them! Set List and Video Link post is here!

The Out Alive Tour moves to Michigan tonight for a show in Ann Arbor. The main thing Kris fans would know about Ann Arbor is that it is the headquarters of Kris' booking agents at Fleming Artists (although Kris' agent at Fleming, Jordan Burger, is in New York according to his Twitter bio). Also, I always have a hard time remembering this, but Michigan is in the eastern time zone, so the show is 8 pm EDT (7 pm CDT, 5 pm PDT).
List Preview:
Although it's not quite as epic a list as Chicago was (one of the best ever), Ann Arbor listees are flailing and excited to be going. And we have a bunch of people from David Cook fandom coming, which is great! I also see that we have at least three and probably more folks coming who are quite handy with the video camera. So no worries on that front.

The Out Alive Tour stops in Chicago, IL tonight. Expect a large crowd of Kris regulars as many are making the trek to the Windy City for this show!
Admin note: I'm out of town Friday through most of Saturday. Will not arrive home until just before the show is scheduled to start and will not have much time to update lists then. So we will have to settle for adding people last minute. Expect the list to be a bit buggy. Sorry.
Updated: Easily one of the best lists we have ever had. Great job, Chicago and travelers to Chicago! Wait until you see all the video links! Don't miss the awesome return of Falling Slowly/With or Without You to the set list, as well as the request song, a cover of In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. Set List/Video Link post is here.

The Out Alive Tour heads up to Minneapolis, Minnesota, home of the Replacements and Prince, which ought to give Kris lots of great inspiration for requests!
I just hope we will get video. (Update: We got a lot, good job Minneapolis!) The last three shows have yielded only a few videos. C'mon midwest, step up your game!
That said, in the managing expectations department, a few people on the list for tonight were discussing how they don't normally like to tweet or video during shows yesterday. I completely understand wanting to just kick back and enjoy Kris live - he's an amazing live artist - it's why we all love to follow his events and shows! Hoping they'll at least tweet a pic of the set list or even just the set list after the show.

Tonight the Out Alive Tour stops in Lawrence, KS, home to the University of Kansas. So this is not officially a college show, but hopefully it will attract many college kids and new Twitter followers for Kris!
I completely admit this show was off my radar and I was worried when I saw how few people were on it. But then I was happily surprised when I peeked at the list and saw I'd added a few familiar names (probably when the show was first announced). So no worries as far as getting set list or videos.
Updated: Apparently this venue cut Kris' set short (for reasons unclear). And we only have one video (luckily, of the request song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Lawrence, good try at taking Frostburg's crown but you did come through with the set list. Set list post with link to the one video is here.

The Spring Out Alive Tour leg begins its travels tonight in St. Louis, Missouri at the Old Rock House.
The list tonight won't be our largest, but I do see some good tweeters on it.
Admin note: I've got to do some fundraising for my kid's high school tennis team and work a snack bar tonight for a lacrosse soccer team. Such is the life of a sports mom in one of the jockiest high schools in Virginia. I will get home to run list just as show is getting started. So the list will be buggy due to last minute adds and I'm sorry but that's the deal. It will help A LOT if people tell me ahead of time if they should be on that list.
(Also, the Lawrence, Kansas list for tomorrow - that one does need some help, so please let me know if you are going!)
Another note - As you have probably heard, there was a tragedy in Boston today, and our hearts are with the Kris fans who live there as well as the rest of the city. Not going to make a big hooha out of the list tonight out of respect for them.

The Out Alive Tour begins the second leg officially tonight in Russellville, AR (near Kris' home town of Conway). As we learned last night, Jake VP will be subbing for Cale during this part of the tour. While this will be sad news for many, it was Cale's choice to take a break, it is only temporary (this leg ends May 3), and I encourage all Kris fans to support Cale's decision and welcome Jake with open arms. From the videos already posted of last night's show, it's clear Jake brings some good guitar work to the band as well as wacky vine videos and more tweets than we are used to getting.
