10 Years, 1 Night Tour | Kris Allen brings the tour to Indianapolis and Chicago, November 19-20, 2019

After a quick Christmas show in Virginia (thanks, Kris!) and a few days off, it's back to the road for Kris Allen, who heads to Indianapolis on November 19 and Chicago on November 20.

The basic 22 song set list for the tour is in this post. Kris has added Written All Over My Face to that set, and has dropped in a few surprises occasionally (Parachute and Paul Simon). He's also getting brave with doing songs he NEVER does in VIP, like Turn the Pages! Even more awesome, he's occasionally performed a few new songs (More Machine, We Will Change and Whenever You Are Here).

Come back after the shows as I'll put the highlights from these two stops in this post!

Updated November 22 with video from Chicago (including one of his Christmas songs - I suspect his Christmas music will now find its way into set lists), and a fantastic Out Alive from Indianapolis.

Tickets and information

Kris has played Chicago many times, including several Christmas shows. He brings the windy city more holiday cheer on December 4.

Updated December 5: A few videos. A fan reports that the fries were good! C'mon Chicago, you need to do better if you want to earn #gavegoodlist!

Idol Tour 2018: September 7: Kris Allen and the Idols play the Chicago Area

It's back to the Chicago area for Kris Allen on the Idol tour. The Idol Tour in 2009 played Rosemont, a western suburb. Back in those days, the tour played the Allstate Arena there and the crowd was allowed to be enthusiastic:

Let's hope this smaller theatre lets the 2018 Idols and their fans have some fun. Ticket link below; come back after the show for coverage. Set list is here.

Updated 10/2/2018 with better videos! Enough to earn Chicago #gavegoodlist

I was kind of wondering on the promo for this one since I kept seeing people angsty that Kris isn't playing Chicago on this tour. He is! Link above for tickets! In fact, this show is coming close to a sell out and I have recently seen some promotion from the venue.

Updated 1/1/2018: Chicago is always one of those cities that understands sharing with fellow fans! They're on track for #gavegoodlist. Some nice photos inside and we're getting some good videos too! Please give the videos a like as you watch them! Added a review from Concert Katie too.

Kris is on a month-long acoustic tour with his good friends in the pop rock band Parachute. Parachute, who is fantastic about fan service, is letting their fans vote on their set list. Kris has keyboardist Andrew St. Marie in tow and he is sharing a bus with Parachute. The venues are smaller than either act filled last tour (apparently they are favorite venues of Parachute's), and so far the crowds have been lively and showing up early to line up. I've got Kris' expected set list in the post; Will post what I can find for Parachute's set list after the show (since it's changing each time).

The tour continues with a sold out show Friday night in Chicago. Information for this specific show can be found after the break!

Updated 4/16/2017: After a dry spell, looking at you Iowa and Minnesota, Chicago came through with a happy and lively crowd! Tons of great videos - thank you @toni7babe and photos too!

If you haven't already seen my post on the Jim Brickman tour, do look it over - my coverage will be different than you are used to. I'm not doing lists, and I wouldn't expect live tweets, fan videos or streams - there's a strict anti-recording, anti-phone use policy in effect for most of the show.

Updated 12/6/2016. A nice ninja video of A Little Bit of Christmas! Well done River Forest!

Kris continues his holiday concerts at malls with this one in Rosemont, a suburb of Chicago near O'Hare airport. I've been surprised that I haven't found many people going, but I do have a good friend (her twitter is locked but she promises to report) and her friends on this list. :)

Updated: This show may have been a victim of a remote location and poor publicity as it wasn't as well attended as it should have been. That's too bad. I suspect things will perk up quite a bit, though, with the next three mall shows as they are east coast, and two of the malls are large and do social media well. Plus it's a big shopping weekend sales-wise. As for this show, my friend and her friends really enjoyed the show and had fun talking to Kris both before and after. We've got some IG videos this AM, a full set list and some good pics this morning, and some videos this evening, so Chicago, those of you who went have earned #gavegoodlist!

This show in Chicago has been sold out for a long time! A lot of longtime fans going as well. We will have a great list as we always do with Chicago shows. One of Kris' best cities for sure.

Show and List Preview:
Kris does his next gig at a college in the outer Chicago suburb of Naperville. Although this was originally booked by Degy and slated for 2014, it was moved to this year and scheduled for the end of May. While that may seem like a bad time to do a college concert, this particular college will still be in class as it doesn't break until June. Also good is that this college is heavily promoting the show via social media to its students. Even better, this particular college show is also available to the general public at a bargain price, so if you are in the Chicago area, you should go! (This may be your only Kris concert this year!)

Our list does indeed include some Kris list regulars, as well as some college students.

Best list in awhile! Updated with setlist, photos, instavideo, recorded audio, tons of gorgeous videos and media after the break...

Kris and the rest of the No Limits Tour hit the windy city. In 2013, he had quite the epic solo show there! As far as the list goes, I do expect to be adding people as we go tonight so please do refresh from time to time.

Flashback Friday: It's Fun to be a Kris Fan!

On Fridays during down periods, we try to catch up on tour media around here! We'll check out a video to catch up on the Out Alive Tour. Plus I'll try to give you a bonus video - maybe one that got overlooked or one that is just worth watching again.

For the Out Alive Tour Catch-up Video - I thought a good reminder that being a fan is fun was in order after spending a week watching poll angst on Twitter. So here's Kris covering the Prince classic When Doves Cry in 80s Wayfarers, on January 15, 2013, at Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA - definitely one of the livelier, more fun crowds this tour! LOL listen to them go "whooooo" when he sings the line about touching his stomach. Not that I was among that group, no way, not me. ;P

For the Bonus Video - Here's my favorite of Kris' Out Alive Tour recap videos, set to My Weakness (a fun song) and featuring the Chicago, New England and Toronto shows (look, the crowds are having fun! Plus the KAB singing the Friends theme at the end!) It deserves a few more views!

So yes, please vote for Kris in round 3 of Ryan Seacrest's poll, but also just enjoy how awesome Kris is too and have fun being his fan!

The Out Alive Tour stops in Chicago, IL tonight. Expect a large crowd of Kris regulars as many are making the trek to the Windy City for this show!

Admin note: I'm out of town Friday through most of Saturday. Will not arrive home until just before the show is scheduled to start and will not have much time to update lists then. So we will have to settle for adding people last minute. Expect the list to be a bit buggy. Sorry.

Updated: Easily one of the best lists we have ever had. Great job, Chicago and travelers to Chicago! Wait until you see all the video links! Don't miss the awesome return of Falling Slowly/With or Without You to the set list, as well as the request song, a cover of In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. Set List/Video Link post is here.
