10 Years One Night Tour | Fall Tour 2019 Announced by Kris Allen

Kris Allen Fall Tour Dates Listed

Exciting news: Kris Allen announced a fall tour! It will be a small venue, solo acoustic tour and to quote one of the venues (NYC's Cutting Room), "Celebrating 10 years from his monumental American Idol win, platinum-selling singer/songwriter Kris Allen is taking his stories and career-defining songs out on the road in a rare, intimate solo-acoustic performance."

Sounds wonderful! We'll cover this tour as always, but in the meantime, tickets for most shows are available! Go to Kris' official website for all the dates and ticket links!

2009 Lookback | Kris Allen Does Post-Idol Winner's Press, May 2009

So it's May 21, 2009, and Kris Allen just won American Idol.

Now it's time for him to do a TON of press. Back in 2009, American Idol was still a BIG thing and the finale, with its "upset" winner, got a lot of attention. In this post, we'll look back at some of those interviews... Full disclosure. May 2009 was a busy time in my life, and while I made time to watch Idol, in a lot of cases, writing this post will be the first time I watch most of these interviews! Hopefully for those of you who have seen them before, you'll enjoy some fond memories or pick up on some new items. I also have a lot of mp3s of live Heartless and No Boundaries in this post. So sit back, and check out all the media from May 2009 after the break. And if I missed anything from May of 2009, please comment and I'll add to this post!

Kris Allen bringing the Somethin' About Christmas Tour back for 2018!

The Somethin' About Christmas tour is coming back in 2018 to an east coast, midwest or southern town near you! (Sorry west coast. Let's all hope Kris comes back in 2019 with new non-holiday music and a full USA tour!)

This was a holiday highlight for me last year! Just seeing him perform Just Like Snow live was amazing and I am a summer girl who normally disdains winter weather.

Go to Kris' official website to view the tour dates, locations and grab your show and VIP tickets! And come back after Thanksgiving for show coverage!

Idol tour hosted by Kris Allen starts this Wednesday! Blog coverage plans

The American Idol Live 2018! tour is starting this Wednesday, July 11, in Redding, California! If you haven't already, go buy your tickets!

Remembering past Idol tours (ah! cellcasts!) and other tours like the holiday tour with Jim Brickman, Kris' setlist will most likely not change from show to show. For this blog, I'm planning to the posts a different way. I've gotten really busy in real life work and just don't have the time to do a separate post for each show, plus with the fact that each show is pretty much the same.. . here's my game plan for tour coverage, and of course, I can always adjust it if events warrant or if free time permits (ha!)

Post for July 11: Tour premiere! For this post, I hope to get the set list and of course some photos and videos. I have read some spoilers on it courtesy of MJ. If you are going to one of the first week's shows (Redding, Jackson County (Oregon) fair, Napa and Denver), do me a favor and tweet me on Twitter (@KrisAllenLists); that way I'll know who to follow up on show details with!

Weekly post to be done on Tuesdays: Right now I plan to include a small recap of each show with the best photos, videos, etc. Depending on how the final set list and my  real life work schedule and projects shake out, we'll see if we need to do more, change the weekly date, or if that will work. Due to a long-awaited, much needed vacation scheduled, I'll skip weekly recapping the first two weeks of August and do a two-week recap on August 15.

The weekly post will focus on Kris of course, as he's the subject of this blog. If he duets or collaborates with any of the Idol finalists, that will definitely be covered. More than ever, I am going to need your help since I'm not actually going to any of the shows until the last one in DC. Please share all you can on Twitter and IG about the Idol tour (and tag me)! Thanks and looking forward to the summer of shows!

June 2018 catch-up post

So this is a catch-up post for all things Kris for the last few weeks! Real life has kept me very busy. Apologies for that! Here's what's been happening Kris-wise:

New single on Friday June 29!
We never see Kris tweet anything anymore (it's all IG stories from him) so it was a great and nice surprise to see this little bit of news pop up:

That's right - new single on June 29. It will also be out on Apple music and iTunes. Kris has been chatting with fans about it on his IG post.

UPDATE: And it's premiered! You can stream the new song here exclusively today (6/28).

UPDATE: It's out! Go here for all the purchase and streaming links.

Show on June 23
We had almost no advance notice of this (which is why you should follow me on Twitter, because I did have a second to RT the tweet from one of the other performers). Kris performed at the Listening Room in Nashville on June 23. We know he sang Faster Shoes and that's about all we know. I wonder if he performed that new single? If you were there, let us know in the comments!

KAL Plans for Covering Shows and Events in 2017

Happy New Year everyone! This post is to tell you about my plans for covering Kris Allen shows, concerts and events for 2017.

The big news?  I've decided to forgo making live tweet lists this year.

No worries, there will still be lots of live Kris event coverage. So why I am abandoning the twitter lists (which were the original reason this site even existed)? The twitter lists just didn't really add anything except extra work for me, people never told me to add them to the lists when I asked, very few people subscribed to them, and I think they negatively affected my show post view counts. When something isn't working for you anymore, you have to move on. I used the Comfort and Joy tour posts as a test for ditching the Twitter lists, and as you saw, we didn't miss a thing not having the lists.

We still have set lists (2017 set lists compiled will be here), video playlists, Spotify playlists (coming soon!), master song lists, etc., so no name change needed now - and the focus will remain Kris Allen live! I look forward to covering the one-offs (starting with a military concert tomorrow) and the Getaway tour with Parachute. There will still be posts for each event and show, and I'll continue to keep (as best I can) setlist information. I am hoping you guys will help by continuing to post the good stuff on IG and Twitter as you go to shows (and Facebook if you must). Thanks for reading and following, and let's have a great 2017!

2016 for Kris Allen and Fans - a Wrap-Up Post

It is time for one of those year-end posts all the blogs do! I thought this year I'd take a look back at some of my favorite Kris performances and memories. On Twitter, I invited you to do the same, and you came through big time with some great photos, videos and tweets! I'll be including them in this post. Not to mention that I actually got in three Kris concerts in person in one year, tying my record for that! (Some of you really put me to shame with how many shows you get to!) So let's take a look back at 2016 for Kris Allen and fans.

Kris Allen and Parachute on Tour April 2017

In case you missed the announcement this week, Kris Allen will be opening for his friends in the band Parachute this April on their Getaway Tour. If you aren't familiar with Parachute, they are a really fun pop music band from Charlottesville,VA who now are Nashville-based. I am very psyched about this pairing and look forward to covering it! Based on their tweets, Parachute seems to be planning a lot of fun surprises for their fans.

Tickets went on sale today and you can pick them up via Kris' official site.

Charity Event: June 18, 2016: Union Rescue Mission Presents: Night on the Streets 2016, Little Rock, Arkansas

Union Rescue Mission Presents: Night on the Streets 2016 "Multicultural"
June 18, 2016
War Memorial Stadium
Little Rock, AR

Doors 4 PM CDT
Show 6:30 PM CDT
Other Acts: Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Mary Mary, Tamela Mann and Amber Bullock

All ages

Show and List Preview:
This charity telethon event benefits the Union Rescue Mission of Little Rock, a faith-based charity in Little Rock, Arkansas that seeks to help the homeless, addicted and disadvantaged rebuild their lives. Although it says it's a telethon, I'm not finding any livestream or TV information; it sounds more like a charity concert. According to this news story, "Every act will perform live with their band and after 45 minutes of the performance the show will stop and the audience will have the opportunity to participate in the telethon event by getting on their phones and raise funds for the URM."

Updated: Some pre-event stories after the break. Could not find any information or media regarding Kris' part in this show but it turns out there was a very good reason for this:

Today's the Day! Tickets on Sale Today for the Letting You In Tour!

http://krisallenofficial.com/tour/

Today is the big day! Tickets go on sale today for Kris' first major US tour since the Out Alive tour of 2013! (Unless you are in Washington DC (presale, see newsletter from venue), Chicago (venue website), Ann Arbor (presale ended) or New York City (presale), in which case tickets went on sale a couple of days ago! No worries, you can still get them!) The name of the tour is Letting You In and there are indications that it will be full band. The great news is that he is playing major cities that he has not played in years!

Click the picture above or click here to go to Kris' official website, where ticket links for each show are to be posted today!

Some questions I've seen people asking and some answers:

Is there VIP? According to his street team, they are still determining that. If you see a VIP ticket, it is something the venue is working up, but not the official meet and greet.

What is the venue? For some reason, the mobile version of his website doesn't show the venues. They are there though - just use a real computer. They are also on his Facebook page or his BandsinTown page.

Good luck to everyone buying tickets today! I am going to have a busy day, but when I can, I'll be on Twitter @KrisAllenLists and will RT all ticket links I see.
