And here's the interview and performance! Thanks 101.9 and Gina Crash (Very cool DJ that I remember from her DC DJ days at WHFS, a radio station I really miss listening to!)
Show and List Preview:
Not quite a show, actually. You have probably heard of TED talks - TEDx events are similar, but independently organized. Kris' old university, the University of Central Arkansas, is having a TEDx event this weekend with many guest speakers, and Kris! There's no information on the agenda about what time he will be on, but this Facebook post says 11 AM (central). The event is open to the public though, and there's livestream.
Updated with set list and media (including video) after the break... Updated 2:00 PM EST 3/4/2016
Make A Difference Evening,
a reception by the Jones Group to benefit Ronald McDonald House of New York City
December 11, 2012
Tonight Kris is one of the performers at a special charity benefit to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House of New York City. The benefit was originally scheduled for the week that Hurricane Sandy hit New York, and thus of course had to be rescheduled.
Others scheduled to appear include American Idol season 9 winner Lee DeWyze and season 6 standout Melinda Doolittle.
We're back after a Thanksgiving break. (Usually) Every Thursday, we take a look back at a great video of Kris!
This week, as you may have already heard, Kris is in Kenya with World Vision USA on a charity mission. Make sure to check out their blog, Pinterest board and/or Facebook page for more information and some great videos!
To celebrate his latest good deeds, thought it would be appropriate this week to look at a fan video made for his birthday two years ago. A group of fans raised money to buy Kris a cow from Heifer International. (The cow is actually donated to a family in Africa.) Enough money was raised to buy over 50 cows and Kris was blown away by it.
For those who don't know the other performers, Ariana Grande is a huge star for kids and teens. (With over 3 million twitter followers, let's hope she drinks the milkshake!) She's the comic relief on Victorious and is getting her own show on Nickelodeon soon. Roshon was in Camp Rock and Colton Dixon was on the last season of American Idol. For the list, I've been searching all of their replies, hope to see some new fans be won over today! And we've got some faithful list regulars going.
Updated 2018: Kris' former drummer Brad tweeted something about Ariana Grande, and it reminded me that Kris once co-headlined this mall Christmas concert! Fans had fun reminiscing on Twitter and I saw that this post needed an update. Luckily, Kris fan @SnapCracklyPop had a great YouTube playlist (thank you for the link @ISBinLA) - so enjoy this Krismas concert from 2012!
Today's list is one of our little ones to see if we can get any info about a private event that Kris will perform at (along with Haley Reinhart). The occasion is the opening of Villa St. Juliette, a winery co-owned by Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick. It is private and invitation-only, so we may not get many tweets, but Nigel, Kris and Haley are on the list, along with a winery and a winery association that tweeted about the opening. We'll see how it goes!
The more interesting story may be how Nigel intends to get Kris from Houston to Paso Robles, CA and back to Dallas within two days.
Tonight Kris joins an epic lineup of musicians (with perhaps, just maybe, a very special rumored guest to boot) in an annual fundraiser to benefit Little Kids Rock, a music education charity Kris supports. You may recall he did this event two years ago:
This year, for the 10th anniversary, the benefit is bigger and honors E Street Band guitarist, actor, and Underground Garage host Steven Van Zandt. The amazing lineup of special guests includes the great Elvis Costello, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Members of the E Street Band Max Weinberg and Jake Clemons, Southside Johnny, Darlene Love, Dion, Gary US Bonds, Ruben Blades, Michael Des Barres, Michael Johns from Season 7 of Idol and Kris! If you think KAL (a huge Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band fan since childhood for those who did not know) is going to be fangirling, you think correctly!

Every Thursday, we take a fun look back at a Kris video of yore!
This week we are going back to his October 15, 2009, visit to Seton Hall HS in the Cincinnati area. This produced an epic, epic, did I say epic, video of Kris covering Britney Spears' Hit Me One More Time, with help from the girls of Seton Hall. Sadly, when I went to fetch that video for this post, I discovered the person who put it up on You Tube closed their account and took it down. :(
But, luckily, radio station Q102 of Cincinnati posted this awesome video for all of us - includes the Britney song, Live Like We're Dying, Kris playing viola, Kris singing Happy Birthday and much screaming. Enjoy!
