Idol tour 2018: the Set List

Thought I'd do one post with the set list since we are still building it. Pro tip: If you are a true fan of live music, then you care about set lists.

Here's what we've got so far (after the break). Please tweet me @KrisAllenLists if you can fill us in on the show. Maddie especially seems to fiddle with her set.

Thank you to Linda (Kris Micklin), Kathy Heilig, Patrick Cutler and Caitlin (@caleblovesmaddie), and also @silvacchristopher, @ISBinLA, @HartNurseDeb, @AuntyCJ and MJ of MJs Big Blog for helping me fill it in and update it!

Idol tour 2018, July 12-16: Oregon, Napa, Denver

Here's where American Idol Live 2018! will be headed in the next few days! (Links to tickets and information.)

July 12: Central Point, Oregon (Jackson County Fair) - We've got a few things. Good video of There's Nothing Holding Me Back

July 13: Napa, CA (Uptown Theatre) - Kris fans brought you his complete set! Unfortunately, video police ensured that most of this is audio only. For their herculean efforts, Napa, you get #gavegoodlist!

July 16: Denver, CO (Paramount Theatre) - Kris fan Christi brought us lots of scoop and fun details from this show. Turns out Jurnee and Michael help out on Live Like We're Dying. She has many mini-videos and the first video of When All The Stars Have Died! As always, Christi singularly earns her city #gavegoodlist!

Coverage of those shows after the break in the weekly recap! What we know of the set list is here.

Idol tour 2018: Tour premiere in Redding California, July 11

July 11, 2018
American Idol Live 2018
Redding, CA
7:00 PM PDT

The tour begins in Redding, California! While former Idols have occasionally appeared with previous Idol tours as a special guest, this is the first time one has gone the distance for the whole tour as a host and featured performer.

We've got a few videos inside the post! I did include the finalists so you have an idea of what the whole show is about. I may have a few editorial comments but just remember season 2.1 fans, I come from the glory days of S8 fandom and my standards are high. It's also hard but good to remember that not everyone loves your favorite. Goodness knows we Kris fans have learned that one. By the way Kris absolutely rules There's Nothing Holding Me Back but of course he does. Need a nice full YouTube of that if you are going to an upcoming show.

We could use more on this show. Please tag me on IG (krisallenlists) or on Twitter (@KrisAllenLists) if you have any photos, videos, set list reports to share. I am hoping to get the complete set list for everyone performing.

Idol tour hosted by Kris Allen starts this Wednesday! Blog coverage plans

The American Idol Live 2018! tour is starting this Wednesday, July 11, in Redding, California! If you haven't already, go buy your tickets!

Remembering past Idol tours (ah! cellcasts!) and other tours like the holiday tour with Jim Brickman, Kris' setlist will most likely not change from show to show. For this blog, I'm planning to the posts a different way. I've gotten really busy in real life work and just don't have the time to do a separate post for each show, plus with the fact that each show is pretty much the same.. . here's my game plan for tour coverage, and of course, I can always adjust it if events warrant or if free time permits (ha!)

Post for July 11: Tour premiere! For this post, I hope to get the set list and of course some photos and videos. I have read some spoilers on it courtesy of MJ. If you are going to one of the first week's shows (Redding, Jackson County (Oregon) fair, Napa and Denver), do me a favor and tweet me on Twitter (@KrisAllenLists); that way I'll know who to follow up on show details with!

Weekly post to be done on Tuesdays: Right now I plan to include a small recap of each show with the best photos, videos, etc. Depending on how the final set list and my  real life work schedule and projects shake out, we'll see if we need to do more, change the weekly date, or if that will work. Due to a long-awaited, much needed vacation scheduled, I'll skip weekly recapping the first two weeks of August and do a two-week recap on August 15.

The weekly post will focus on Kris of course, as he's the subject of this blog. If he duets or collaborates with any of the Idol finalists, that will definitely be covered. More than ever, I am going to need your help since I'm not actually going to any of the shows until the last one in DC. Please share all you can on Twitter and IG about the Idol tour (and tag me)! Thanks and looking forward to the summer of shows!
