Private | Kris Allen returns to Arkansas for charity benefit and convention appearances

Kris returned to Arkansas this past weekend and played a gig on April 13 to benefit Alzheimer's Arkansas, hosted by Glen Campbell's widow. He reportedly sang Wichita Lineman with his father. Updated with video from Kim Allen! That's not Wichita Lineman though. Neil sounds great! The song is called Gentle on My Mind.

On April 17, he played a private gig for the Arkansas Bankers Association conventions. We do have a little video.

See what we do have for both events after the jump.

Charity | March 25, 2019: Kris Allen and Others Perform in Nashville for Cancer Charity Benefit

In 2018, Kris was named the "Man of the Year" for his fundraising efforts on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Nashville. He's still raising money for the charity, and last night appeared at a benefit in Nashville. As with most private charity events, we've got very little media, but what we get, I'll put in this post.

College Showcase: October 26, 2017: NACA Mid-America Conference, Covington, KY

 College Showcase
NACA Mid-America Conference
Covington, KY (Cincinnati area)
October 26, 2017
7:45 PM Eastern

Another new school year, another college showcase for Kris. He's been a regular at these conventions which showcase possible performers for college student entertainment planning groups. It's paid off in a lot of college gigs for Kris, and hopefully those college gigs have led some of the students in the audiences to check out his music.

Sadly this is all the media we have from this event. Photo by @KarliClausen

Preview:
Kris plays a showcase for the National Association of Campus Activities' National Convention. As always with these, this is a chance for them to show off to various campus activities boards why they would be a great act to play at college campuses.

Updated 2/20/2017: Kris and the band did a short set that included the premiere of a new cover. We have full video! I avoid her music like the plague myself, but Kris sounds nice on the song. You'll have to tell me if it sounds like the original or not ;).

National Association for Campus Activities
Northeast Regional Showcase
November 4, 2016
Connecticut Convention Center
Hartford, CT
2:19 PM EDT

Preview:
Kris is doing another college showcase, this time for colleges in the northeast. These are private events for those attending the larger convention. I'm sure he will impress a bunch more college activities boards! Personally, I like that this particular one is close to New York City as it is his new Christmas album release day!

UPDATED: Another successful showcase in the books based on live tweets! Some media in post.

Private Event: October 14, 2016: NACA Mid-Atlantic Showcase, Buffalo, NY

Fantastic pic by @ACMStudentLife (Allegany College in MD)
Apologies! I was roadtripping in the actualfax Mid-Atlantic to pick up my own college kid yesterday and completely spaced out on the fact Kris was doing the Mid-Atlantic showcase for the National Association of Campus Activities, Mid-Atlantic Regional conference. (By the way, Letting You In makes for fantastic road-tripping music, just saying!)

From the pictures I've seen, looked like it went great! I'll add anything related to this event to this post. (Updated 10/18/2016)

Show and List Preview:
Kris and the band play a showcase for the National Association of Campus Activities South Regional Conference. This is a chance for them to show off to various campus activities boards why they would be a great act to play at college campuses. They did a similar showcase back in 2014 that resulted in a number of bookings. Kris is also booked to appear at two more regional conferences this fall (NACA Mid-Atlantic in Buffalo on October 14 and NACA Northeast on November 4 in Hartford, CT).

Update after the show: Not much media yet, but these are southern college kids. I have a few of my own so it may take a couple of days! From the clip of LLWD, seems like the crowd enjoyed it! Media is posted after the break...

Private Event: June 14, 2016: Meeting Planners International World Education Congress, Atlantic City

Private Event
Meeting Planners International's World Education Congress
June 14, 2016
Harrahs Atlantic City, New Jersey

Around 6 pm eastern today, we saw tweets pop up advertising a Kris performance to meeting planners attending an educational conference in Atlantic City. Turns out he (with the full band) and Redfoo from LMFAO are the closing night's entertainment for this large conference. (Train and Rick Springfield have already entertained the meeting planners.)

Since it's a private gig, we probably won't get set list info, but if I do, I'll add it to this post. In the meantime, here are some photos posted on social media by attendees. (Updated 6/15/2016)

Private Event: December 10, 2015: X Card Holiday Party, Miami, FL

I don't usually do posts for private events unless it's easy to find things - they aren't publicized before hand and there's normally not much - but luckily for us, this surprise performance last night at a company holiday party in Miami did have a few private event guests to post some videos!

I have no idea what X Card is, but it threw a holiday party for itself (with one gorgeous Christmas tree) last night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino - and booked a pretty great band in the KAB!

Set list (Order uncertain; may be missing songs - if you were there and can help flesh it out, please contact @KrisAllenLists on Twitter or email krinjalists@gmail.com.):
    1. Paul Simon [Instagram]
    2. Better With You [Facebook video]
    3. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas [Facebook video]

    Event Preview:
This is a private event to benefit the American Red Cross. It is organized by If Only, a charity that offers experiences with "luminaries" that are billed as one of a kind. To attend this, you either had to spend $1,000 for a stay at the resort (these sold out), or $600 for tickets to just the performance itself. Alternatively, a Los Angeles area radio station, KOST 103.5, ran both online and call-in contests, so it was possible to win one's way into this show as well. (And if you did, you need to let me know to add you to the list. :))

Wish we'd known earlier - would've worked up a list! Heck, maybe St. Louis Kris fans might have gone!

Many thanks to a second awesome tweeter @Bond_doubleoh_7 who says that this was a private party and provided this set list; she's also going to email some videos to share! Stay tuned!

List: April 11, 2013: Central Arkansas Christian School Fundraiser, Little Rock, AR

An Evening at CAC (Central Arkansas Christian)
    Little Rock, AR
    8 pm CDT

Kris does a private school fundraising gig tonight in Little Rock, AR. Although it is a "private gig," tickets (generously priced as it was for charity) were available to the general public. Kris will perform an acoustic show and also do "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers with the school's choir!

As we've seen from the past, Kris and high schools are always fun. We get epic flaily tweets from the kids (if not a full set list or videos right away).

Updated: This high school was no exception and brought us great info! Here's the set list post with video links! Don't miss Lean on Me with the HS choir.

List: Make A Difference Evening for Ronald McDonald House of NYC, December 11, 2012

    Make A Difference Evening,
a reception by the Jones Group to benefit Ronald McDonald House of New York City
    December 11, 2012

Tonight Kris is one of the performers at a special charity benefit to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House of New York City. The benefit was originally scheduled for the week that Hurricane Sandy hit New York, and thus of course had to be rescheduled.

Others scheduled to appear include American Idol season 9 winner Lee DeWyze and season 6 standout Melinda Doolittle.

November 2, 2012: Cabo Waba Cantina, Cabo San Lucas, MX

    Cabo Wabo Cantina
    Cabo San Lucas, MX
    7:15 - 9:00 pm
(Cabo is in the same time zone as the mountain time zone in USA, but has no daylight savings time, so 10:15 eastern).

Kris plays Sammy Hagar's bar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico today. There's been a little confusion over this event. While it appears to be open to the public, it's also been rumored to be a private event for Tyson Chicken. We'll see! In any case, Big Daddy is certainly enjoying his time down there and has a lovely view (as shown by the photo above).

List: October 20, 2012: Nigel Lythgoe's Private Vineyard Opening Party

Today's list is one of our little ones to see if we can get any info about a private event that Kris will perform at (along with Haley Reinhart). The occasion is the opening of Villa St. Juliette, a winery co-owned by Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick. It is private and invitation-only, so we may not get many tweets, but Nigel, Kris and Haley are on the list, along with a winery and a winery association that tweeted about the opening. We'll see how it goes!

The more interesting story may be how Nigel intends to get Kris from Houston to Paso Robles, CA and back to Dallas within two days.

    Anyway, here's the list:
