Private Event: December 10, 2015: X Card Holiday Party, Miami, FL

I don't usually do posts for private events unless it's easy to find things - they aren't publicized before hand and there's normally not much - but luckily for us, this surprise performance last night at a company holiday party in Miami did have a few private event guests to post some videos!

I have no idea what X Card is, but it threw a holiday party for itself (with one gorgeous Christmas tree) last night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino - and booked a pretty great band in the KAB!

Show and List Preview:
Last year, Kris and band enjoyed the Live Loud Festival cruise - and you enjoyed watching their antics so much, it was the most popular post on this blog in 2014! This year, they are taking on a bigger, more high profile music cruise - the Rock Boat!

Kris and band and fans will set sail about the Norwegian Pearl (picture above) for a four-day adventure that will take them from the Port of Miami to the Mexican island of Cozumel, just off the Yucatan Peninsula. There will be a lot of fun, games and three, count them, three Kris shows! Plus they've got some friends and former touring companions on the cruise in Green River Ordinance and Andy Suzuki and the Method plus, how could I forget, the Barenaked Ladies are also on this cruise. We'll track it all and post updates as they come in this post.

Festival, Cruise and List Preview:
Kris, his band, his fans and many other artists will be boarding the Norweigian Pearl on a musical cruise from Miami to the Bahamas. The list includes a few lucky cruisers found on Twitter and Facebook, plus a few regulars and the other acts. They may not be able to tweet while at sea. As we did last year for the Sophia's Heart Cruise, I'll use this post to update as we go along. The festival's website has a ton of information if you want to see what you're missing.

Highlights include:

• Wednesday, 2/26: Kris performs in the ship's Stardust Theatre at 8:30 PM
• Thursday, 2/27: Ship will visit Great Stirrup Cay. 60s Formal Night!
• Friday 2/28: 70s Night! Kris performs in the ship's Stardust Theatre at 8:45 PM
• Saturday, 3/1: Docking in Freeport. I notice there's a toga party that night too. Before the party, Kris performs on the pool deck at 8:30 PM in the Stardust Theatre at 10 pm.
• Sunday, 3/2: Return to Miami

Along with all the performances above, the festival's website promises "there will also be great activities hosted by the bands! You can anticipate such experiences as Trivia, Flip Cup, Bingo and more."

Throwback Thursday: September 29, 2012: Ain't No Sunshine with Jose Feliciano at Miami Rocks our Troops

On Thursdays on non-show days, we take a look back!

This week we are going back to last year to a charity event on September 29, 2012, benefiting veterans in Miami. Kris was part of a star-studded line-up for Miami Rocks Our Troops, including Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Billy Ray Cyrus, and of course, the great Jose Feliciano who is well known for his own cover of Bill Withers' Ain't No Sunshine.

So it was very cool when Jose invited Kris up to join him in a duet on that song! Here's a nice video of it from Catalm:

Flashback Friday: Hit Me Baby One More Time Edition!

On Fridays during non-tour periods, we try to catch up on tour media around here! We'll check out a video to catch up on the Out Alive Tour. Plus I'll try to give you a bonus video - maybe one that got overlooked or one that is just worth watching again.


Of course, our big news this week was the arrival of Oliver Neil Allen on July 30. Congratulations to Kris and Katy, and welcome to the world Oliver! So I thought for this week's Out Alive Tour video, we'd check out a baby banter video! And it includes a nice clear audio/video of Unique too! Here's kmt8871's video of Unique from the April 22, 2013 Ann Arbor, MI show.






For our bonus video, continuing with the baby theme, I thought it would be fun to go way back to when we saw the birth of the Kris Allen Band! Here they are in Yendiders' awesome video at the Miami Dolphins Tailgate in October 2009, performing Britney Spears' Hit Me Baby One More Time!
