10 Years, 1 Night Tour | Kris Allen plays a hometown show in Conway, Arkansas on December 5, 2019

Rumor had it that Kris had slotted an Arkansas show during his 10 Years, 1 Night tour but the original venue fell through. Not to worry though, his hometown of Conway stepped in and organized a free show on December 5 so Kris could bring the tour to his home state.

The basic 22 song set list Kris followed for the tour is in this post. Kris has added Written All Over My Face to that set, and has dropped in a few surprises occasionally (Parachute and Paul Simon). Even more awesome, he's occasionally performed a few new songs (More Machine, We Will Change and Whenever You Are Here).

Private | Kris Allen returns to Arkansas for charity benefit and convention appearances

Kris returned to Arkansas this past weekend and played a gig on April 13 to benefit Alzheimer's Arkansas, hosted by Glen Campbell's widow. He reportedly sang Wichita Lineman with his father. Updated with video from Kim Allen! That's not Wichita Lineman though. Neil sounds great! The song is called Gentle on My Mind.

On April 17, he played a private gig for the Arkansas Bankers Association conventions. We do have a little video.

Updated 4/26/2019: Looks like it was a great and lively show! This was an actual fax arena show, which is awesome and it's so great to hear the full band in that kind of venue. This charity telethon event benefits the Union Rescue Mission of Little Rock, a faith-based charity in Little Rock, Arkansas that seeks to help the homeless, addicted and disadvantaged rebuild their lives. Although it says it's a telethon, I'm not finding any livestream or TV information; it sounds more like a charity concert. According to this news story, "Every act will perform live with their band and after 45 minutes of the performance the show will stop and the audience will have the opportunity to participate in the telethon event by getting on their phones and raise funds for the URM."

Unfortunately, information is not easy to find for this show as you can see above from the fact I had to screencap Kris' Bands in Town entry for it because there was nothing else to screencap. This article is probably your best resource.

Kris' old university, the University of Central Arkansas, is having a TEDx event this weekend with many guest speakers, and Kris! There's no information on the agenda about what time he will be on, but this Facebook post says 11 AM (central). The event is open to the public though, and there's livestream.

Throwback Thursday: First Performances of the Songs from Horizons

Every Thursday we take a look back at Kris Allen's career via video.

This Thursday, with the imminent release of Kris' new album, Horizons, this Tuesday, August 12 dawning upon us, I thought we'd take a look back at the first time he performed all of the songs on Horizons live. Note, of course, he has not yet performed ALL of Horizons live, but many of the tracks he has been performing for almost a year. (Two of the songs premiered in October 2012!)

We'll use the Amazon UK edition of Horizons for this post, since it's the only one I've seen with bonus tracks. Note that it uses a different order from the US edition. I'm sure hoping the bonus tracks will be added to the US edition. And if you have not made your plans to buy Horizons, do so immediately! It will be available via iTunes, Amazon US, and major US retailers. If you can't afford it, DO NOT PIRATE IT. Instead, check out Kris Allen Fans Unite's awesome gifting effort for someone willing to gift it to you!

Throwback Thursday: May 29, 2010: Saline Summer Daze, Benton, AR

Every Thursday we take a look back at Kris Allen's career via video.

Today, I was feeling a little down about doing this post. There were plenty of things to throwback to - apparently May 29 is usually a busy day for Kris - but nothing really jumped out at me, because I am not feeling nostalgic; I'm feeling anxious. That's when it hit me that I really hate the down time when the album is in the final preparation stage, there's nothing (yet) to promote, and the tour dates are not finalized and not able to be revealed. And on top of it, most of the few live dates we do know about are college shows, which have their role and are great, but aren't something the majority of Kris fans can attend. Every day while doing searches for the list, I see the tweets of Kris fans hungry for news, real concert dates, anything they can listen to, look at and enjoy! (Except snake photographs.) Like you, I am ready to bring back a busy schedule of Kris music, concerts and live tweet lists!

So when I saw that the live debut of the song Bring It Back from KATA happened on this day back in 2010, well, the choice for today's post became obvious.


Bring it back, indeed, Kris. We're more than ready.

On April 27, 2014, several towns in Arkansas were simply devastated by tornadoes, including a strong EF4 tornado that ravaged Vilonia, the town where Kris' wife Katy teaches school. To aid in the rebuilding, Kris and Preston Palmer Studios have arranged a relief concert tonight to help raise needed funds. According to the event page, money raised will go to Samaritan's Purse's efforts in Mayflower/Vilonia and The Ministry Center, who is also working with tornado victims.

Obviously, this is a serious and worthwhile cause, so my focus will not be on the fun stuff like it normally is. That doesn't mean we won't grab media and set list, of course. But the focus is relief. So to that end-Kris' official street team sent out an email to its members with this information (copied/pasted from the email):
