Idol Tour 2018: September 9 and 10: Kris comes home to Nashville and then back out to Dayton

We are in the final ten days of the tour now! I'm so excited for Kris to play the historic Ryman, even if it is as host of the Idol tour 2018. After a stop in his adopted hometown of Nashville, the tour heads back out to Dayton, Ohio.

September 9: Ryman Auditorium, Nashville, TN - Nashville is just always a city that never shares video.

September 10: The Rose Music Center at the Heights, Huber Heights, OH (Dayton area) - some video; not much

Updated September 13 with a little from Nashville. Not much.  But some good stuff, especially for Idol 2.1 fans.

Kris on at 5:45 pm EDT

Show and List Preview:
Kris is one of the featured performers for this brand new festival! Although, I'll be honest, as a General Hospital and Nashville fan, I'm kind of psyched that Jonathan Jackson is in it too. The other day my work BFF asked me if I thought Lucky was going to stay a long time on GH this time around, and I said, nope, he's got a tour and a show with Kris! (I have to admit, that made her laugh.)

Anyway, this festival looks like a great way to spend a Saturday if you're a fan of good indie Americana, country and/or folk-pop music. The festival is in the Dayton, Ohio metropolitan area. Click the links above for tickets and line-up info. One note: KAB will not be performing with Kris; instead he'll be backed by Donnie Reis' band.

Updated: It was a good show for Kris! I hear It's Always You was a highlight. Unfortunately Jonathan Jackson wasn't as "lucky" as a bad storm suspended his show. Post is updated with set list and media (tons of videos and photo albums) after the break..

Show and List Preview:
This is one of those quasi-religious service/concert things that Kris does sometimes. This one is in Dayton, OH and he's doing it with members of Caroline Glaser (his winter opening act)'s band and some other indie musicians.

Throwback Thursday: First Performances of the Songs from Horizons

Every Thursday we take a look back at Kris Allen's career via video.

This Thursday, with the imminent release of Kris' new album, Horizons, this Tuesday, August 12 dawning upon us, I thought we'd take a look back at the first time he performed all of the songs on Horizons live. Note, of course, he has not yet performed ALL of Horizons live, but many of the tracks he has been performing for almost a year. (Two of the songs premiered in October 2012!)

We'll use the Amazon UK edition of Horizons for this post, since it's the only one I've seen with bonus tracks. Note that it uses a different order from the US edition. I'm sure hoping the bonus tracks will be added to the US edition. And if you have not made your plans to buy Horizons, do so immediately! It will be available via iTunes, Amazon US, and major US retailers. If you can't afford it, DO NOT PIRATE IT. Instead, check out Kris Allen Fans Unite's awesome gifting effort for someone willing to gift it to you!

Here's the UK Horizons track list with a great video from the first live performance afterwards for each song (except the two he hasn't done live, Lost and Parachute).

1. Beautiful & Wild (Live premiere, February 8, 2014, Watseka, IL)

2. Don'’t Set Me Free (Live premiere, February 8, 2014, Watseka, IL)

3. In Time (Live premiere, February 8, 2014, Watseka, IL)

4. Lost - Not performed live in front of an audience yet, but Kris did play it live in a Yahoo Music! exclusive session posted this week.

5. Young Love ("Paul Simon"”) (Live premiere, October 3, 2012, St. Louis, MO)

6. Prove It to You (with Lenachka) (Live premiere, July 18, 2014, Anaheim, CA)

7. Everybody Just Wants to Dance (Live premiere, February 8, 2014, Watseka, IL)

8. It'’s Always You (Live premiere, February 8, 2014, Watseka, IL)

9. Should I (Live premiere, October 3, 2012, St. Louis, MO)

10. Girl Across the Room (Live premiere, May 9, 2014, Arkansas Disaster Relief Concert)

11. Unique (Live premiere, April 5, 2013, Dayton, OH)

12. Parachute - Not performed live yet.

Enjoy! And spread the word - Horizons is almost here!

Throwback Thursday: Is It Over, Dayton, OH 9/1/10

Every Thursday during the in-between times, we take a look back at a fun Kris video of yore.

Summer is drawing to an end. As a self-professed summer girl, I have to ask "Is It Over" (Cheesetown, I know.) This time of year, I'm in the mood for a sultry summer evening, with plenty of guitar and a good crowd.

So here's kmt8871's video of Is It Over from Labor Day weekend 2010 in Dayton, Ohio. This was the tour with Maroon 5. Lots of Andrew for the Andrewberts!

Enjoy! And if you are going to see either of Kris's shows this September (see Kralendar below for dates and places), please let me know to add you to our Twitter lists!

List: April 5, 2013: Jimmie's Ladder 11, University of Dayton, Dayton Ohio

April 5, 2013
Jimmie's Ladder 11
Presented by Campus Concert Committee
University of Dayton
Dayton OH

9:30 PM EDT

Opening Act: Lauren Eylise

The Spring leg of the Out Alive Tour starts tonight in much-neglected Ohio, at a show organized and presented by the University of Dayton in a local campus pub, Jimmie's Ladder 11.

Although it has been primarily promoted by the Campus Concert Committee, it is open to the public, and we do have quite a few temporary townies for a day (cough *regular Kris fans* cough) going. The Facebook list was pretty long as well, full of students, which is great.

Updated: This was a great list! Here's the set list post with many video links!
