10 Years, 1 Night Tour | Kris Allen finally returns to California for solo live shows October 15 - 18

Tour Poster for Kris Allen's 10 Years 1 Night tour 2019

It's been a long while since Kris Allen played regular (non-Christmas) shows, and played them in California. Those fans have waited awhile, and the week of October 15, 2019, Kris returns to play Los Angeles, Berkeley, Novato (Marin County near San Francisco) and Winters (near Sacramento).

The basic 22 song set list for the tour is in this post. In subsequent sets, Kris has added Written All Over My Face to that set, and on one occasion, Parachute.

Come back after the shows as I'll put the highlights from these stops in this post! In the meantime, here's a nice interview with Kris from the Winters, CA local paper.

Updated October 24: Added some links to all the awesome stuff that @krismicklin posted from the Winters show!

Also just one list for these two shows, so realize that some people tweeting may be going to the show on the other day.

2013: The Year in Kris Allen Live Performances (Part One of Two)

Every year, I try to keep a YouTube playlist of Kris' live performances and get it out to my followers as a thank you for following me. I look for a good video of each performance and try to make sure that people who don't normally post video are included as well. This year, with the Out Alive tour, we ended up with a five part playlist (YouTube allows 200 videos per list, and I left some room on each one for missing songs.).

So for those of you who really need to catch up on Kris, you are all set! Before I list the playlists, a few acknowledgments. First and foremost, thank you to every single person who has live tweeted a Kris show, posted pictures and/or posted video. You may not even realize this, but many Kris fans truly appreciated it!

Special shout-outs to @ameeliu15 and @headonfire1105. You'll see their videos a lot. Thank goodness they went to Kris shows and were nice enough to video every song! Also special shout out to @maryet34 who makes invaluable playlists for almost every Kris show. These were super helpful for compiling my lists!

So here's Part One! This part covers the January 2013 shows in the first month of the Out Alive tour (from Killington, VT through Tulsa, OK). I'm sure those who went to a show during this time frame will remember how amazing it was that Kris even was able to perform given his terrible accident at the beginning of the year. I went to the Vienna, VA show in January and remember just feeling grateful that Kris was OK. Highlights here include his performance of Where Are You Amy (dedicated to the citizens of Newtown) in Ridgefield, CT, and awesome covers of Where Doves Cry (Prince), Breakdown (Tom Petty) and Cry Me a River (Justin Timberlake). Since the East Coast loves them some Kris, you will find the Boston, Philadelphia and Vienna videos to be especially popping.

And here's Part Two! This part covers shows from Albuquerque, NM (January 31), all his west coast Out Alive shows, and goes through Aspen, CO (February 20). Yes, there are that many shows and videos! Kris was an enormous trooper considering he was recovering from a serious injury, and he deserves a ton of credit for not letting his fans down and continuing with the tour.Highlights during this playlist include some great requests (Wicked Game (Chris Isaak), Jealous Guy (John Lennon) and High and Dry (Radiohead) are my favorites). Standout shows in this part included San Diego, Agoura Hills, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.

The playlist for Part Three runs from February 21 (Denver) through the Sophia's Heart cruise and on through the first few shows of the spring leg of the Out Alive Tour (through Plymouth, NH, April 25). Highlights here include first performances of Kris' original songs Fighters, Love Too Much and Unique, as well as some great covers of Tighten Up (The Black Keys) and In Your Eyes (Peter Gabriel). Shows that stood out for me included the cruise, Chicago, Ann Arbor and Toronto.

Click here for my second installment, with the rest of the year's playlists and a look back at Kris' stats! In the meantime, please let me know your Kris highlights in the comments, and if you spot any videos I've missed, or corrections to be made, please hit me up and let me know!

Throwback Thursday: Everybody Wants to Rule the World, San Francisco, 11/21/2010

Every Thursday we take a look back at Kris' career via video.

Uploading a little early today as we have a family celebration tonight.

I was really happy to see this video come up when I plugged 11/21 into the YouTube search box. I've always loved Kris' cover of Tears for Fears' Everybody Wants to Rule the World, and he began mashing it up with Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel during the 2010 Lifehouse Fall tour. The mash-up was a lot of fun, and it turned into a sexy duet of Kris' falsetto with Andrew DeRoberts' guitar. Check it out in this awesome video from headonfire1105 from his November 21, 2010 concert in San Francisco!

Enjoy!

Flashback Friday Begins! Flashback to January 19 and February 14, 2013!

I got a fresh idea last night for something to do during our long break between shows. I was folding laundry and as I like to do when I do that, catching up on YouTube.

Although I stayed on top of the set lists and media, I am still pretty behind on watching videos! And I hadn't seen Kris' cover of Ellie Goulding's Lights that he performed in Charleston, South Carolina on January 19. So after watching that last night, inspiration struck.

So I've decided that every Friday, we will have Flashback Friday and try to catch up on some videos! I'll post a video or two each Friday that I am catching up on. And I'll a post a second video that needs some love from Kris fans - maybe the person got it up late or after a more popular channel, so it just didn't get the hits it deserved. I'll also update the set list blog post for the shows with any great channels I stumble on. Hoping this will get us all caught up!

So for my "catch-up" video: Here's Kris performing Lights at the Music Farm in Charleston (great video by headonfire1105):

And for the "give this great video some hits will ya" entry this week: Here's an awesome video by GrUmPiTa of Kris performing Seven Nation Army (the White Stripes cover) and Shut That Door from his show at Cafe du Nord in San Francisco, California on February 14, 2013. Krale fans should not miss this. Unfortunately, GrUmPiTa has a big disclaimer saying you cannot use her videos on any website (perhaps explaining her low view count) but click the link to check it out.

If you've got a great video to suggest or nominate for future Flashback Fridays, let me know in the comments or hit me up on Twitter @KrisAllenLists.

Kris performs his first-ever Valentine's Day show tonight. The gorgeous city of San Francisco is a perfect place to spend Valentine's Day too. (Yes, Katy is going to this show.)

One of the people on this list is going to try to stream it for you, so be sure to watch the list and my twitter account for the link!

And as always, sometimes people on the list will tweet things that you don't like or agree with. Just scroll on by. As I've made pretty clear (I hope), I compile the list. I don't babysit the people on it or the people reading it.

Update: Kris did a lovely version of Can't Help Falling in Love for Valentine's Day. Don't miss it! Relive the show with set list and video links!
