Christmas Tour 2018: Kris and the band return to DC on November 29 for Christmas

City Winery DC
November 29, 2018
VIP: 4:45 PM Doors 6 PM Show 8 PM
Opener: Sawyer

Kris and band head next to Washington, DC. They may not realize that this particular City Winery is in a dodgy neighborhood (it's next to the dodgy neighborhood my real-life office is in). If you go, don't go alone and definitely plan out your transportation, as you aren't going to be walking to the Metro. Driving/valet parking or Uber is the best bet. I'm sad that they didn't go back to the adorable place they had the show in last year. But I'll be there! I won the VIP Facebook contest. Going with one of the Dirty Minds, so you know this show will be fun!

Updated November 30: What a fun show! And a great VIP meet and greet. Lots of scoop. We met Kris' mom Kimberly too - she's in DC for a business trip and happily got to see her son's show. We do have a lot of videos and photos. I'm swamped and may not get them all up until later this weekend. But I'm on it!

Updated November 29, 2018: And so they did! Congratulations to Ang on winning the Ugly Sweater Contest and to NYC on earning #gavegoodlist by fun live tweeting, sharing tons of video and photos, and just having general holiday good cheer! Not to mention getting TWO set lists! Looks like Kris is taking requests for his solo spotlight so choose wisely people. Heartless is not the move for Christmas, y'know? All of the videos, set lists and big apple holiday fun is after the break!

Appearance: November 10, 2018: Kris Allen performs Live Like We're Dying at the Women That Soar Awards; Mentions New Music Coming Soon

I kind of slept on this one. I thought we wouldn't get anything out of it. Shows what I know!

Kris joined fellow idol Fantasia to perform at a Dallas-based awards show: The Women That Soar awards,  The event was taped for later airing on TV (in March 2019). We know he sang Live Like We're Dying:

(Here's another video from IG of it.)

After the event, Kris was in his feels! And decided to do his first ever live Instagram. I happened to stumble on it and it was fun. He answered questions, gave some props to the fandom and performed his new song Safe Harbor. (Which he officially performed live for the first time the other night in Nashville but we have no video. Lucky Idol Tour VIP attendees actually heard it a few times this summer as he worked it out.) Most important, he announced he's got new music coming soon!

Thank you @SnapCracklyPop for capturing it!

Writer's Round: November 7, 2018: The Bluebird Cafe, Nashville, TN

In the Round for Musician's Corner
November 7, 2018
The Bluebird Cafe
Nashville, TN
9:00 PM CST

Kris will join some of his past collaborators for a songwriter's round at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. KS Rhoads has played and co-wrote with Kris on the albums Horizons (Lost) and Letting You In (If We Keep Doing Nothing). Marie Miller from Virginia was the opener for the Somethin' About Christmas 2017 tour and the two dueted (beautifully) on Wasting Away. Wish one of them would release it! They have already written one song for Kris' next album (scoop some of you got us from the last tour) and last week, Marie shared in an IG story that they were working on another one. I confess I had to google Emily Kopp; she's described as an indie-soul artist from Orlando.

It is sold out, but late-released tickets may be available at the door. Any good stuff from it (Kris has been known to debut songs at these rounds) will be in this post.

Updated November 9: Marie Miller and Kris' duet on Wasting Away is always the good stuff. Marie was kind enough to share it on IG.

Updated 11/11/18: Turns out Kris also live premiered a new song he sang during Idol tour VIPs, Safe Harbor. While we don't have video from this event, Kris did a live IG last night and sung it for us. I'll put the video in that post.
